Smile Installing bell expressVu model 6000

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to install the bell 6000 hd receiver.I ran a line from both 91 degree and 82 degree to a sw21x switch that I installed to the dish.
From the switch to the sw44 switch inlet 1B and out #1 outlet to the power inserter. Then finally to the receiver. I aquirred a signal on the 91 degree @ 88% but the 82 degree is in the red saying that it is the wrong satellite.
I also ran a switch test and it says I am connected to one satellite.
The sd signal works great but the hd signal is missing.
Do I have a switch problem or need to align the dish more?

You need dual transponders. See picture of my dish:

One transponder is aligned for the 82 satellite and the other for the 91. You can see that only one cable comes down from the antenna. The receiver switches from one transponder to the next when selecting SD or HD. There is another switch (unused) for a second cable which can feed a second receiver.

Edit: ...but I may not understand your problem correctly! I'm not familiar with these switches anymore.

BTW, the above is no longer in use. I have Illico cable (Videotron) since April 2004 because I was annoyed with signal breakup during storms and wanted a DVR.

Default Its been a while

But, if I understand things, you believe you've hooked up and aligned as per the instructions, but it still doesn't work, right.

I had a heck of a time, and it turned out you * must * run the switch test operation, or it never seems to figure out how to turn on the switch.

Default Thanks for the information guys!

I am pretty sure that the sw21x switch that i bought is NFG.
The inlet #2 doesn't register. I turned the feeds from one transponder to the other. I was receiving a signal from the 82 degree satellite but not the 91 degree.
What a head ache! I am new to the switch with the satellite. It was nice when you could hook it up directly to the receiver.
Thanks for the info!!
