Default Hd 9200 Pvr How Do I Cut The Commercials?

I try to cut out the recorded commercials on my PVR 9220 receiver.
When I try to delete a commercial part it deletes all the event. The Edit portion is not much of a help. Also is there a way to record only a part of an event like some movie-clips only.? I tried it and all what is does it stops the whole recording. Does anyone have a good advise how to do it or is it all in the software?, thanks mecarthur

You can't cut out the commercials in the manner you described. The 9200 simply allows you to skip past them while watching a recorded event (use the forward arrow button on the remote to skip forward in 30 second interval and the back arrow to reverse 10 seconds). The "Edit" button lets you edit the recording schedules (not the actual recording).

Recording part of an event:

Sometimes I enjoy Music Videos and want to record some additional ones. So here's what I do:

1. Before the next one starts, I zap to the next channel and back to have a fresh buffer

2. Once the new Video starts, I take a few seconds to decide if I like it and wish to record. If I do like it, I press the record button and it will use what is in the buffer at that point

3. Before putting a stop to the recording, I leave the DVR on record for a few more seconds after the end of the Video because when starting a recording late, you give it additional time to catch up.

4. Zap to another channel and back to clear the buffer and be ready for a next Video.

Works well.

Default Cut Commercials on PVR 9200

Thanks guys for the tips. But it is very sad that a hi-tech machine like the 9200 has not the ability to take unwanted content out of the recording. The idea is when I am not at home I want to record movies or music shows but I want to see it later without commercials or only those parts of a recordings I like. I am wondering if BEV mastermind the software that you can do only things they like. I mean on every simple PC you can edit movies the way YOU like.
I paid almost $ 700.oo Dollars and get this. Well, I am stuck with it now. If someone has aby good new idea I,d appriciate that, thanks Mecarthur...

It's not a movie studio, it's a television recorder. Just hit the skip button a few times to get past the commercials.
