Default PVR9200 Frrrreeezzzzzing.....bbbbrrrrrrr

My wife.....bless her, signed up for me to rent a PVR9200. After the certified Bell installer (installed a high def unit but didnt align the dish for the 82 satellite) I had to align myself but still charged the $185 and also mentioned that the 9200 was a technicians nightmare come true. I have experienced freezing on recorded playback. It will freeze every 15 seconds and this is constant not just now and again. Makes it tough to watch a program. After 4 fruitless calls to customer service the last technician I spoke to told me to turn it off at night and hopefully the updates will come down but so far nothing. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Signal strength is 94 on both the 82 and 91 and it doesnt matter if its hi-def or regular low def recorded, it just sucks. I can understand a few bugs with software updates but this is not smart if they are aware this is a problem before they release a unit. Watching tv live is fine no problems.

Just off the phone with cusotmer support and they are going to replace it. Seems its a software issue with newer models. Will keep you posted

They told me it's a software issue that will be resolved in 2 weeks. We'll see about that, I guess.

Bev sent me the new reciever as promised and I have installed and activated. It took them awhile to get going with this problem but customer service has been good in whole, (remember they are just humans on the other end of the line and can only do so much) I did a couple of test recordings and it seems ok. The last rep I spoke with finally admitted this has been an ongoing problem with the 9200 and until the next software fix is out it will continue. Why not just admit they have a problem and send out a release instead of getting thier customers upset. I know if this kind of thing happened at my place heads would be rolling.

Better yet, offer a damn credit for the trouble.
