Question Which of the 4 major Canadian HDTV providers is the best.

Which of the four major Canadian HDTV providers do you the members consider the best. It seems that Shaw cable ( that is what I am currently receiving at this time. Rogers TV is unavailable in my area) does not have a very extensive line up for High Definition. I am a Jays fan and would love to receive the Jays in HD. Rogers owns the Jays and that is why Shaw does not braodcast the Jays in HD. Hockey Night In Canada has started braodcast in HD and Shaw does not that in HD. I was looking over the Star Choice line up and it offers Hockey Night In Canada in HD along with Bell. Which is the one to subscribe to? Any help would be appreciated.

Check out Starchoice.ca for a list of what's on currently in HD - I think you will find some (if not all) Blue Jays games available from Rogers. Starchoice launched a new satellite that gives them an advantage in the number of channels they will be able to carry and I understand that they are adding additional HD content. I hope that it's more sports and movie channels but there's nothing definite yet. In terms of their gear - some of it is still a little glitchy but I hear that it's better than others like Express Vu. I would definitely choose satellite over cable for the sheer number of channels available unless you get a great deal on high speed internet and cable. Make sure you have a good southern exposure without trees etc. in the way. I'm looking forward to the addition of their new satellite signal but I'm already satisfied with the amount of HD content available. Most mainstream American networks and most major sports are available in HD. The number of movies is limited but that's probably a longer term battle that involves Hollywood and copywrite infringement. Good luck in your selection and keep us posted if you find any breaking news.

This just baffles me as Shaw owns Starchoice. Might have something to do with the CRTC. I've examined this from every angle and still can't figure WTF Shaw Cable is thinking.
