Default Bell ExpressVu

I am currently with Bell (3210) on 2 year contract. I would like to upgrade in next month or so to HD. All I am getting now is very confussing picture, but here are facts:
- new 6120 system on 2 year contract, installed is $369 after programming credit of $30CAD (Bell's web site)

-contacted them and yes they can ship me receiver and dish upgrade kit for $485, no installation included and I can continue on existing 2 year commitement

-Futreshop can sell me receiver for 399 plus kit for 150, no word on any contract.

-Bell's kiosk in the mall can sell me system for 699 plus kit for 80 regardless that price on web site is 300 less. " Why not 369 was my question?this is price for new customers " was an answer from them.

Can anybody tell me what is going on? Why do I need "kit" if I am buing full set in the box? Also, I dont need dish, 20" one is already on my wall with room for another LNBF.

I bought a 6100 receiver two weeks ago for $399 from Bell World. They would not let me but the package which included the dish because I was already a Expressvu subscriber. The kit is so your receiver can get both 81 and 92 feeds. The $90 kit is for up to two recievers and the $180 kit is for up to 4 receivers. The kit includes cables, one LNB and SW21 or SW44 depending on how many receivers you need hooked up.

So basically you are penalized for being existing customer and instead just buying 6120 with everything included in the box, you had to pay extra for "kit" and $399CAD for receiver 6100?

Yes that is it entirely. I just went through the whole thing with Bell on the phone. Funny I figure I sold about 10 recievers to friends who tripped out when they finally saw HD in a house and could'nt live without it. Please call Bell and keep up the pressure.

Talking Bell Expressvu feed them s....... and keep them in the dark

Bell has only one motto as far as I can figure out for its original customers, tough too bad your an existing customer, you get to pay again and again and again you get nothin special from us and don't expect any replies on any questions from us. There arrogance is beyond belief. Of course you know when all there is to protect the consumer is the CRTC that should tell you why they are the way they are..............

Default Bell Sucks

I went through the same thing some time ago. There are several options.

1. Have your spouse setup a new account with HD and cancel existing service.
2. Cancel Bell and go with Star Choice
3. Cancel Bell and go with Dish or Direct Tv out of the USA
4. Cancel Bell and go with FTA for non HD and use OTA for HD

Personally after having the HD using OTA I see no need to waste monthly fees on Bell.

Bottom Line don't support these arogant SOB's.
