Question Hookup my rogers box cables?

i just got my Sony Grand WEGA KF50WE620 50", the only HD available to me is rogers cable. My receiver(Rogers Explorer 8000HD PVR Digital Cable Box) is on order and should be here early next week.

What is the best type of connections to use to connect the cable box to the TV and my surround system? I have seen these monster cables but don't know too much about them. I understand the gold plates connects offer the lowest resistance and thus a better picture?
I am not sure what kind of cables to get?

any help much appreciated as i am a true dummy when it comes too hdtv and electronics.

Default Monster cables

The monster cables are truly the way to go but this can become costly. I recently upgraded to HDTV. TV was $2600.00 and then I spent another $800.00 on Monster power center and cables. Ouch

I'm very happy with my choise of power bar and cables, I highly recommend Monster products for High Def. Audio & Video.

Maybe someone with Rogers/SA8000HD could verify if the DVI output has been activated yet, last I read these outputs were inactive.

I would recommend using a good set of component cables to hook up the 8000 to your HDTV. You will need an optical/coaxial digital cable to deliver Dolby Digital to your A/V receiver, and you can also run standard audio cables directly to your HDTV. Monster cables are good but you can get the same picture quality for half the price, or even less. Look around for some different brands and then make your choice.

Here's a good quick read on various inputs/cables;

Hi,
If you live near Toronto, there's a guy on Queen st just a block west and on the same side as City TV (can't remember the name) but its between University and Spadina.

This little hole in thewall will make you top quality cables for audio and video as well as terminated or DIY speaker cables at much better prices and just as good as Monster. I had 14ft component cables made with top notch terminations for $52 a set.

If you do some Bi-wiring he has the plugs (gold plated) that allow you to plug one into the other. He also has all kinds of electronic components.

If someone remembers the name please chime in but it's easy to find.
