Default Installing Exterior to Interior Coax Problem

When I have helped friends install their cable or Satellite systems in the past and had to penetrate an exterior wall with the coax, we have used the nylon cable bushings because all have been inside a carport and free from exposure from rain and weather. Now we want to install a system that requires the RG-6 to penetrate an exterior wall that is constantly exposed to the weather, elements, and viewing from the street. Underhouse access is not an option at this location. The house siding is LP paneling and I am reluctant to use a nylon cable bushing for fear of water penetration. What is the best method to make sure that a coax cable wall penetration not only looks good, but is protected from the wind, rain, sleet and snow?

You can get a weather proof feed thru from Ace for $1.49. http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(4o...px?SKU=3166568

A dab of silicon caulk would add extra protection.

And don't forget to put a "drip loop" on the cable.

Default Drip loop?

Would I still need a drip loop if the coax is coming up from the foundation not down the side of the house?

No, not in that case; there would be no point as I'm sure you figured out already.

Another tip to prevent water/moisture flow is to drill your hole, angling slightly up from the outside towards the inside.
