Default HDMI Switch vs. 2 HDMI Cables

I'm hoping for some advice. I'm trying to decide if it would be better to run 2 hdmi cables (1 from DTV box, 1 from DVD) to the TV or use a splitter to have just one cable running to the TV. The components are in a remote location so the one cable option seems less cumbersome. With the switch, concerned about signal degredation and I'm running Samsung components so was hoping to use Anynet technology but wasn't sure that would still work with a HDMI switch.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

You should not have any issues with an HDMI switch at all. You can get a 4x switch with remote for like $30.. That way you could add a a device or 2 down the line. Do you have a AV receiver or plan to get 1.

If so make sure to get 1 with HDMI repeater/switching.. The Onkyo TX-SR606 converts even analog like component and S-video through the single HDMI to the TV... Works great for a tidy wall mount.
