Default HDMI Connections to Sony Wega

Hi, I've been reading the forums and can't seem to find my problem listed. I've connected the HDMI cable from the AVR-2307CI Receiver to the "7" HDMI input on the Sony Wega. The Satellite Box (HD-DVR) is connected to the Component Video inputs. I get no picture and no sound. This is very frustrating and I'm sure it's something simple. I can provide pics if necessary. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!

I suggest you connect from your cable box to your TV and then connect a seperate cable for audio to your receiver for sound reproduction otherwise you must connect HDMI from your cable box to your receiver and then an HDMI cable from your receiver to your TV for reproduction of both audio/video hope this helps

Question

Thanks ImRizzo for your response. The reason we purchased the HDMI was because the salesperson said we could attach only ONE HDMI from the Receiver to the TV and this would handle everything that was attached to the Receiver. Were we given incorrect information? Thanks again for any response or help with this frustrating problem!!

Unfornately the information they gave you was correct but does not allow for 5.1 surround sound. You will receive HDMI from your provider to HDMI on your TV will give you picture and stereo sound only but not if your going thru your AVR system again unless you using HDMI from your AVR to your HDMI imput on the TV also.

Hey thanks again ImRizzo! But, the problem I'm having is no picture and no sound. With the HDMI cable attached from Receiver to TV. I'll figure out one at a time with sound coming later. Where should the Sat Box (Dish) be hooked up? I've got it in Component 1. Yeesh, I feel so dumb!!

Plug your HDMI cable directly for your satellite box to your TV This will provide your with picture and Sound
then using your sony remote press the TV/Video button and this should bring up your picture
