Hello and thanks for reading.
Unable to get a video signal when connecting a Sony DVP-NC85H DVD player to a JVC LT-26WX84 LCD television. I am using an HDMI to DVI-D cable (the DVD player has HDMI, the TV has DVI-D). According to the documentation: The JVC TV has DVI-D single link supporting HDMI, HDCP v1.0. The Sony DVD player has HDMI, HDCP v1.3. Have spoken with tech support at both JVC and Sony. Advice was to set DVD player for 1080i HDMI resolution, try turning TV, DVD player on and off. No success with the above attempts. Thanks in advance. |

if you have gone through the setup menu for the Sony DVD player and set the video output to the digital HDMI output, and it still does not work, you may have a defective DVD player (not too unusual for Sony products these days).
Have you tried 720p output to the TV ? With a native resolution of 1280x768 the TV set is a 720p set and would have to downscale the 1080i signals from the DVD player. It would be best to feed it a signal at its native resolution |
