Need some help with Panasonic tcp50s30 and onkyo surround sound
So I just moved into my new place and I actually have enough money to set something nice up for myself. I bought a Panasonic tcp50s30 tv on sale at pc Richards and an onkyo 7.1 surround sound system. It's the HT-S5400. I want to be able to hook up my ps3, xbox360, and cable box so that I can play all of them through surround sound. The receiver seems pretty decent it has buttons to switch to each different hdmi input. Here are the specs or the pertinent ones anyway
Onkyo ht-s5400- 4 hdmi inputs 1 output Panasonic tcp50s30- 3 hdmi Inputs (2 rear, 1 front) 2 component video inputs, 2 USB ports. Xbox360- 1 component hd output 1 hdmi output Ps3- 1 component outputn1 hdmi output As I said I'm just trying to hook this up the best way possible so that I can play everything through the surround sound system. I am not experienced with this stuff so any help forum you guys is immensely appreciated :) |
Connect everything to the receiver inputs via HDMI, and the receiver output (monitor out) to the TV via HDMI. Configure the receiver to not send audio to the TV. Done.
