Default hdmi disables analog audio?

I have a denon 2910 dvd player which can connect to a display via dvi-hdmi or hdmi-hdmi. My audio output is separate and analog, and I want it to stay that way (the display has no audio processing capability). Question: if I choose the hdmi-hdmi option will it automatically disable the analog audio output from the dvd player? [I'm still deciding whether to buy a dvi-hdmi or hdmi-hdmi cable so I can't test this for myself!]

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I would call Denon directly with that question. Some DVD players disable the audio if a HDMI cable is connected, but it is not a requirement. It is the decision of the mfg. I know one DVD mfg DID disable the separate audio if a HDMI cable was connected, but they issued a firmware fix to change/fix this.

I would imagine MOST will allow the separate connection, but it would be best to call the mfg directly to confirm BEFORE buying.

Good luck!
