help.. I just got a LG lh30 42" lcd tv. Great picture from the dish network box. But when I try to connect my dvd player with componet cables I get no picture. (great audio) I have check and rechecked to make sure that it is blue to blue, green to green, and red to red.... If I hook up blue on the dvd player to green on the tv set I get a black and white picture only other wise ... I get the no signal message. I even went out and bought new cables to see if the old (left at the house) cable were no good. still no change.. I tried a second DVD player with the same results. Is there some setting on the DVD player when hooking up componet cables, a certain channel, throw salt over my left should when looking west? (just kidding)

Did you have the player connected to another set before your bought your new TV? If so, how was it connected? Composite-video? s-video? component-video? Try connecting it with composite connection (yellow, red, white) or s-video to see if it works. If it does, then there might be a menu setting (or a button on the player that needs to pushed) to enable the component-video outputs. If the player does require a procedure to enable the component-video outputs, it will be described in the manual. |

Sounds to me as if the component video cables (red, green, blue) are not connected to the proper connections on one of the devices (TV or DVD player). You would be best advised to recheck your connections thoroughly.
