Default VA-Comcast and SA 8000HD connectivity help requested

hi everyone,

I would greatly appreciate some troubleshooting help with regards to my SA 8000HD cable box.

I recently purchased a Sony Bravia KDL52V5100. I am using Dynex component video cables.

The video outputs available from the 8000HD that i can tell are DVI and Component video (red, blue, green ports). I hooked up the component video output from the cable box to my Component 1 input of the Bravia. I also hooked up the audio ouputs (red and white ports) to my Bravia. When i switch on the cable box and the tv, I can hear audio (ofthe various cable channels) but no video whatsoever. I get a "no signal, audio only" message. Just to be sure that those Component outputs from the cable box are working, i do see a flickering image when i hook up my SD tv.

Comcast says to bring the cablebox in to switch to a model with a HDMI output. Will that solve my problem? or is it a TV issue? (as in my Component videos inputs on the Bravia are screwed up?)

Thank you for your time and help!

I would take the box back. With or without Hdmi, your current box is not working.
