Default Comcast Signal, Box or TV problem

I used my new Sansung 42" LCD HDTV for a couple weeks with only the Comcast coaxial cable plugged directly into the TV. The picture quality of the non-HD channels was fine. Then when I hooked up the Comcast HD DRV box to my TV (via HDMI) the quality of many of the non-HD channels became unviewable - countless large black pixels all over the screen, no volume, basically it seems like all of the data is not getting to the TV. However the HD channels all work perfectly and some of the non-HD channels work fine as well.

Specs:
42" Samsung LCD HD
1080i
60mhz

Is this a comcast signal issue or a box issue or a TV setting/problem issue?

Any help and advice would be great. I am a novice with this HD stuff.

Thanks -
Jason

Since everything was fine with just the coax plugged into the TV, I would say this is a box issue.

Try connecting the Comcast box to your TV using component cables (red green, blue) for video and optical or analog (red and white) for audio. It will deliver a great picture and will not have the issues associated with the HDMI connection.
