Default TWC Motorola DCT 3416

OK. I've searched and searched--but no answer which leads me to believe that I'm clawing at an unresolvable problem:

I have the DCT 3416 STB. Prior to this box (now 2+ years on), all STBs allowed me to delete all channels that I did not need/want/understand/care to watch. ON OPENING of the program guide, all the channels I wanted in the guide appeared.

With the Motorola, there is the "Favorites List"--but, unless I'm missing something (quite possible), it is not the least bit convenient to get to the FavList. It's at least a two-step process.

So. The Q's. Can I delete the unwanted channels (I'm not into ranchero music, for example) and just see "my" channels on opening the guide as a ONE-STEP process???

Many thanks....
