Default rg59 question???????

hi, i have a 3rd floor room that is pre-wired with rg59(i re-did the rest of the house in rg6), i am putting a large lcd hd tv up there and
hd cable box. my question is, does hd work over rg59 or do i have to switch to rg6. i don't want to get into specifics, but it is not an easy area to switch the cable, if rg59 will work, I WOULD RATHER JUST LEAVE IT IN THE WALL. please advise, thanks!!!!!!

RG-59 should work for that just fine.

is there a box up there already? is there a tv there? the only way to tell is if you can get the signal levels.

Default well, the rg59 did not work

i posted a question earlier about an area in my house the was pre-wired with rg59, and i asked if hig def would work over the line.
well, IT DID NOT! when i first fired up the t.v. everything seemed great at first, but i can not get certain hd channels, picture just drops out, pixelation comes in and out.
time warner is coming out today to run new rg6.

There is a lot more signal loss with rg59, particularly in the higher frequency channels.
