I just got two Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HDC DVRs from Time Warner Cable (San Diego). The user's guide says that you can set start and stop times manually, without using the on screen program guide. But when I try this I don't see the screens that the user's guide says I should see. I think TWCSD must have disabled the feature. Does anyone know a way around this?
Also, is there a way to fast forward a given amount of time (e.g., if I want to watch only the last hour of a three hour program that I recorded) so I don't have to hold down the fast forward button until two hours of the recording have elapsed? |

Try hitting the FF button more then once compared to just holding it down. I don't think there is anywhere to bypass the manual recording options or do it any other way...
