What is HD?

Hi All,
Sorry if this was posted before (did a search and couldnt find anything on it). Anyway, I'm using a DVI to HDMI cable from my cable box to my HDTV. The Hi-Def Channels all look great, however when I switch to a standard def channel, the colors are all wrong. It seems like I'm colorblind when I turn it to a normal standard def channel. Any suggestions as to why this is happening? Cable is brand new, component works fine (I wanted to use the DVI so I could free up the component on my TV). Thanks in advance! |

That is a very odd problem. Try resetting the box. What type of box is it? What company do you have? Where did you get the DVI-HDMI converter/cable? Keep in mind some HD TVs have a specific input for DVI-HDMI converters.
There is a reason why I asked what type of box it is... A lot of boxes have different settings to change for SD and HD. Getting to the settings can be tricky also... |
