TCM in HD on Cablevision!
This is friggin great! When did this happen? Now all I need is Fox Movie Channel in HD and I'll be all set.

Well the Wizard of Oz is on now but it has the black bars on the side even though my box says it's 1080i (picture looks great). I've noticed alot of "HD" channels/shows like VH1 are like this. Is this still HD???

With regard to the Wiz, that movie is from before 1950. At that time the Academy Standard was the square picture you are seeing. That is the way they saw it in the movie theater too. As for VH-1 etc.. some of their programming is HD and some is upconverted SD.
