I don't blame you for feeling as you do though, if you regard honesty and living up to the obligations you take on in the disparaging manner that you do. You can try to rationalize transgressive behavior all you want, attacking those who point out the lack of defensibility in your contentions, but that doesn't obviate the reality that you're advocating disrespect and dishonor.

No - I am looking at reality and what people do - not what they should do. BIG difference.

[quote=bicker;914332]I won't answer your ludicrous irrelevant question. I haven't suggested anything even remotely akin to that silliness. I'm suggesting that people should comply with the rules (stop at the stop sign/not knowingly tune in channels they don't pay for) and not complain if they're hit with stiff sanctions if they're caught violating the rules (graciously accept and pay the traffic tickets issued/the theft of service sanctions applied to them).

So if comcast knowingly sends the op a signal, knowing that the op is not authorized to view it - in your opinion it's okay for comcast to send the op a bill, or, gulp, suffer "stiff sanctions". thats some funny stuff!

Yes it is very clear to me that you don't care what people should do, in this regard.

Laugh all you want. It's the law. And I'll just shake my head in compassionate pity when folks who believe as you seem to (that whatever you can get away with is okay, and that you should never be subject to sanctions for violating the terms of agreements you enter into) get caught and are faux-surprised about having to pay the reasonable penalty for their transgression.

No, what I've said is that it is okay for them to go through the legal process to have the courts sanction you for violating the terms and conditions.

It's not unusual for you to argue against something easier to argue against, instead of what I actually wrote.

The get a bad rap because people get a visceral thrill out of taking baseless pot-shots against all big institutions. It is a reflection of an innate feeling of inferiority that a lot of people suffer from.

I doubt he'd be talking about a local broadcast channel, since you cannot have cable service without paying for them.
