I choose Comcast because for ME and again I say ME, it is the right option. Of course I want to pay less for what I receive who the heck wouldn't????

Man why would you pick on Bicker for being a Comcast employee anyway? Again he is another person with his point of view and I applaud him for it...

It seems like some people put Comcast to be the evil empire for crying out loud. If you don't like Comcast, geez you have other options out there. Or maybe it is just human nature for some to really want to hate something in life and stick with it, I dunno...

Jeff
You have me mistaken with someone else. I didn't "pick on" Bicker. Check my posts.

I thought when you subscribed to basic or expanded basic, you got the local area channels plus a few more.
On June 12th, local channels are going all digital. Great!
Local channels here (Seattle) will then be entirely digital with most being that the digital signal is HD.
Now Comcast has installed a box to her set so that she can receive digital signals. She doesn't need the box as her tv is a Sony HD with a QAM tuner. Now she doesn't get the local HD programming! When she asked about this, they told her that she should have been paying for it all along.
Bullshit! If the local signal is HD, then it should be included in her basic package!
Oh yeah, they say that they will be scrambling all of their signals so you have to use their little 'converter' boxes whether you have a digital tuner or not.
This to me, is an out and out ripoff! She, and several others are writing letters to her home owner's association (which supplies basic cable as part of her assoc. fees) as well as the FCC.
Comcast has you covered? Yeah, your bank account if you want their service!
It doesnt matter what kind of HD tv you have or how much money it cost, The signal is a digital encrypted one , comcast does not charge for hi-def they have no control over it, your acting like they took it away from her or something , they charge for hi-def boxes. Comcast wasnt in charge of the digital transition that was government mandated analog channels were removed like the previous post said like 2-28 were the only analog channels left. I work for a Cell Phone Company in Repair Dept and it is so annoying to when people get pissed off at companies because they dont understand something, missunderstood or etc.. Id rather ask a thousand stupid questions and understand everything completely than keep my mouth shut and and look stupid. You already said that it was probably your own fault for not understanding it, why are you getting so mad, If you go online to you tube they show you how to install box on hd tv and use a splitter swithch type so you dont loose anything
