Default DCH3416 Picture offset far right w/HDMI?

Hello all,

I'm having a problem when using HDMI connections from the Motorola DCH3416 STB cable box from Time Warner, the picture is offset far right by 2 inches or so.

It is perfectly centered when using Component cables, the picture is also perfectly centered when using HDMI connections from my DVD player. The only time it is skewed is when hooked up to the DCH3416 through HDMI.

Is there any known fix for this? Using the picture alignment setup from within the DCH3416 menus does nothing but adjust the menu and guide placement leaving the picture itself offset right.

Just to rundown my hardware I have:

Motorola DCH3416 with firmware version 18.43
Samsung T260HD 1080P 26"
Samsung 1080P9 DVD player

thanks in advance!

I think it's time to get a new STB.

It is brand new, and it's the better of the few boxes they offer in my area, surely there is something less drastic that can be done?

Brand new boxes can, and do, fail sometimes. I wasn't saying get a different model, just a different box than the one you have the issue with. But if you don't want to go that route the only other option I can think of is to use component.
