Default Time Warner Cable's Channel Guide

I have Time Warner Cable here in West New York, Nj. My setup is Sony Bravia HDTV with a Samsung SMt-3050 cable box.
Problem: The info window on the upper left of the channel guide is constantly freezing. In other words as you scroll through the guide, you can choose different channels but the info doesn't change. For example scroll through channels 1, 2, 3, 4, the guide still shows info for channel 1. Have rebooted the box with technical service on the phone and Time Warner has come out and replaced the cable box twice - still the HD channel guide freezes. Buddy of mine over in Manhattan experiencing the same problem. Anybody else dealing with this, any ideas about a fix? Its a pain to see an interesting listing on a channel and be unable to see details of that show. In the meantime the guides on my other 2 Time warner digital cable setups in other rooms work fine. Any ideas? Thanks!

Got the same problem with my Samsung box here in Brooklyn. I'm thinking these boxes are turkeys.
Are you having any problems with the remote's sensitivity? As in, having to get right up in front of the box, before it'll work? (several sets of new batteries)
Or how about the box not responding to the remote commands, but storing them, and executing them all really quickly several seconds later?

Second box here. Same exact issues.

Pretty sure my other issues are not box-related, but connection quality related: sound drop-outs, picture freezes, pixelation, loud pops, random picture glitches, color bands.
