Have you tried contacting Blue Ridge Cable customer support as a first step?

We had a problem with an 8300HD this week, called Blue Ridge, and somebody came out to our house that same day around 5PM. My mom said the man told her he works from 1-9 every day. Isn't that great customer service??

I think you should call Blue Ridge. Our 8300HD was having a problem, and they ended up replacing it with the 8300HDC. Seems to work a lot better. The 8300HD kept skipping out on the video and sound and would get all garbled about once a minute.
