I have Brighthouse in the Orlando area and am very happy with the service and channel line-up. I would say price is the only gripe I have, my bill is $155 every month and that includes all fee's, taxes, etc... I get digital cable with all HD channels, 2 HD DVR's, and Road Runner Turbo. We currently have 59 hd channels and there are a couple more coming soon. I say just give me all the HD stuff and Road Runner for $89-$99 and be done with it.

I have Comcast (I mean Comsuck) in my apartment in California.
It's the worst I've ever had. Why?

PQ on HD channels.
PQ on SD channels.
screen menu sucks.
Remote sucks.
Overpriced service.
Awful customer service.

And worst of all they have the market cornered in Central California. I don't want to set up Directv because this stay is temporary in California.

One good thing about Comsuck is their Internet. Although their bandwidth fluctuates with the number of users and how big of a file you are downloading or streaming.

I have Comcast in WV. I'm generally happy with the service, PQ, and HD channel selection. And I do like On Demand, although I'm not happy about no HBO HD on On Demand and that they are now charging for some current TV shows on On Demand. What I'm most unhappy about is the price. It goes up every few months for no apparent reason and without warning. I'm paying over $160 per month just for cable (it just went up last month almost $10). That includes HBO, Showtime, and Starz. Also $15 per month for two HD boxes. And they keep moving channels to their digital lineup, so I will soon be forced to rent even more boxes from them.

I could probably get a better deal if I went with Comcast for phone and internet, but I am happy with what I have now (Verizon), and don't really want to give any more business to Comcast. FIOS is not an option in my area, and local channels are not available on any satellite service (and very difficult to get OTA). So for now, Comcast has me right where they want me.

Thumbs down

We have Time Warner cable at a vacation condo we own on South Padre Island, TX. In the Rio Grande Valley Time Warner offers you a grand total of 15 HD channels. That's it...Blah...

Default TW cambridge,ohio

i have a tw triple package in cambridge, ohio. they just closed their local office putting two people out of work. one lady was with them for over 40 years. they have promised more HD for over a year now and still nothing. closing the office leads me to believe that not much else is going to happen. over all the package is not bad and the price for all three services is good.

I have Blue Ridge Communications in New Tripoli, PA.

I'm really pleased with the service. They have a lot to offer for a relatively small company. We have 5Mbps internet, Digital Phone, Digital Basic Plus and HD Plus, and all movie channels, as well as DVR, for $149 a month, with a current promotion. We just got on the promotion price, but before that, we had all channels but the movies and HD Plus, didn't have DVR, and 15Mbps internet service and the phone for about $165.

They have great, friendly customer service and several local offices. It's run the way a small business should be, and the way any cable company should be. We currently have about 50 HD channels, again I feel a reasonable amount for a small company. It's more than the larger competitors of RCN and Service Electric, and also costs less. PQ is great, sometimes there is pixellation, but we live near the end of the line.

Charter Communications in North Texas, a truly horrible company that looks at customers as annoyances rather than an integral part of the business model.

Things I don't like: Price; $130/month which doesn't include phone or internet but does come with most (but not all) of the premiums. Also, there is the horrible pixelation because the company is out of cash and refuses to upgrade the infrastructure in my area.

Wish I could get a satellite but too many trees. May try ATT Uverse but the switch sounds brutal.

Default My Cable Provider

My Cable Provider : Comcast

Are we happy with it: NO!!!!!!

Why: For starters the cost.....have to get basic cable, rent the hd dvr, then get the basic digital package, then you can get the HD package, but that doesn't include all HD channels, if you want NFL Network and other sports channels outside of ESPN and ESPN2 you have to purchase a sports tier, to get HDNet and HDNetMovies, you have to pay an extra 9 dollars on top of the sports tier...I am not entirely sure that the channels they say are HD...are not actually stretched SD channels Picture Quality stinks......

Internet is good and if it wasn't for the high speed internet I would more than likely still be with Direct TV..

I called Cablevision yesterday and toldthem my finances were getting tight, and was thinking of switching to FIOS. I was able to get them to reduce my bill my $25/mth for the next two years, and they threw in all the movie channels on-demand service for free for 30 days.

It's always worth a shot to call your provideer to see if they are willing to offer to reduce your rate some.

$160 per month just for cable??? Ouch! That's just ridiculous. I have Comcast in East TN. It's $120 per month for HD, phone service with unlimited calls and all available features, and high-speed modem. I just don't understand how they can be charging $160 per month just for cable. That's a complete rip-off.

I can't agree with you more. I am switching from DN to back to cable with TWC the first of the month. The main reason for switching Dish's refusal to carry the MSG family of channels in HD (buffalo sabres games in sd are lousy) , along with the YES Network and only four of my locals in HD, and abc is not one of them.

For me to switchback, I am paying $100 (first yr - $110 second yr) guaranteed, for hd-dvr, a second hd box, 63 hd channels, plus roadrunner. My bill this month for DN alone was $90, however I will be dropping my hbo on cable.

I have Insight Communications. The internet service is great. The SD & HD channel selection is fine--- but the PQ is not always good.

Very frequently the HD picture pixelates/breaks up and the sound drops for a second or two or 20 . . . It is really, really pissing me off. The sound drops are just the worst-- I can take the picture messing up for a second or two, but the sound always drops when there is important dialog.

Their service is typical-- you can NOT TELL them anything. I've had five techs out to the condo in two months-- never a problem inside. Most of the four other families that live in the same building are having the same problem . . .

The techs always say something like "Oh, 'maintence' (or 'outside service' or 'construction') needs to check into this; we can only fix things inside." We always tell them on the phone that the problem is NOT in the house (townhouse)-- but they always want to blame the STB and check everthing inside.

Well they were out to the house last Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and today-- my wife called me and said it is finally fixed. I'm sure the next time it rains; it will ness up again.

Either they do not keep a database of service calls/problems or they don't check it if they do . . . it's no wonder the cable/internet bill is 4X my car insurance.
