Default directv to comcast transition, can I use my multiswitch??

I am going to make the transition from directv to comcast (no line of sight--thank you trees). Currently I have a 5LNB satellite that runs to a zinwell 6x8 multiswitch (mounted outside), which then runs separate cables to each directv receiver (from outside the house to inside).

Can I use the multiswitch when I switch to comcast??

My thought was, run the main comcast line into the multiswitch then just use my existing cables running out from the multiswitch to each receiver.

Does this make sense?? If I'm completely off-base here, how can I use the existing cables that run from outside the house (currently from the multiswitch) to my receivers. Thanks for your input.

No, you can't. Multi-switches are only for DBS services, like DirecTV. You could do what I did when I switched from DirecTV to FiOS, though - swap out your multi-switch for a plain old cable splitter (actually Verizon did it for me). Although you probably currently have two lines running to some locations (assuming you had DVRs with DirecTV) - you won't need both for each location, although having the extra line wouldn't be a bad thing.

Just make sure you get a splitter that can accomodate the frequency range needed for your cable service. Then again, your installer will probably just give one to you.

Thank you. That was exactly the information I was hoping for. And you were right to guess that I had two lines running to some locations.
