Default problem with time warner screen shaking

Hi,

i just got a new 50 inch samsung plasma hdtv and changed in my regualr digital dvr for a new scientific atlanta 8300 hdc box

what has been happening is seems like once a day whenever i am wathing only the HD channels the screen seems to start shaking it is extremely hard to explain. but the only way to fix is to reboot the box which is very annoying becuase if something is taping it messes it up obvisouly

now when the shaking is happning and i change to a normal non-HD channel those channels are fine so i know it only HD channel

I have it hooked up to my via HDMI cable

has anyone seen this any ideas? I called up time warner they never heard of this

also none of my on demand channels are working as well keeps saying call customer care but that is no big deal to me

You described it well but left out a critical piece of information. Where are you located?...TW has hundreds of loctions all over the United State. Without a location it is almost impossible to give you any kind of informed answer..

Default Same problem... Help!!

Hi Denec. I'm new to the forums as well and have the same exact problem. New Samsung 50 inch plasma with Time Warner Cable here in Columbus, OH.

I'm trying to watch my Mountaineers of WV take on Syracuse on ESPN HD tonight and I'm getting that horrid shaking. This is the first time though that this has happend to me.

I'm going to attempt to reset the cable box (Model: Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8240HDC) to see if it fixes the problem. I tried to watch a non-HD channel to see if the shaking happened there as well and got the same thing.

Ugh! If anyone has any ideas on how to get the screen to stop shaking, please help!

Looks like denec also has something wrong with the computer keyboard.

The period "." key and shift keys are missing.

Looks like a bunch of broken up sentences.

Shaking? Do you mean pixelating? Usually a signal issue. The loss of VOD usually means some sort of signal issue, usually on the return side.

It look like the screen is jumping up and down. Its really noticeable when viewing the channel guide.

I was just having this issue with my 52" Samsung DLP television and TW Cable.

After trying a few aspect ratios from the cable box directly, it seems setting the cable output to 420p-Wide made the shaking stop. Not necessarily the ideal solution, but better than having the screen make you sea-sick.
