Comcast HD/DVR 4:3 Override issue

I feel your pain. Found the problem when I started running HDMI through a new Yamaha receiver. Comcast claimed they never heard of the settings not sticking and sent a tech to the house. He thought the problem might have been the TiVo software on the box so he installed a brand new DVR without TiVo. Same difference. Glad to be rid of TiVo though.

Any idea why DeadHead isn't having this problem and we are?

another 3416 tradgedy,,,,, There are more bugs in that box,,,,,,Get rid of it...
Funny part is ,,,they,ll bring you another,and another and another,,,,and they,ll all do the same thing.....

what box should we get instead??
I have the exact same issue mine gets reset back to 480i everytime I turn my tv off. I have a plasma and a yahmaha avr and the 3416 all connected by hdmi. I can turn off the dvr or the avr and the settings stick, but if i turn off the tv they get reset?? It drives me crazy!!! Can comcast diable the auto reset somehow in one of those greyed out settings that we can't access?
