Default Tucson AZ area FOX issues

Has anyone encountered image skip on live broadcasts from FOX in Tucsson? I see the problem during sports, and it looks like a movie missing some frames, and the image jumps. I have had Cox out multiple times, and they finally confessed that it is a transmission problem of the local affiliate.??

Any insights or experience in this would be helpfull.

Do you or a friend have an antenna so you can SEE if in fact it is a local channel problem? It could be a compression/transmission problem with your cable provider as well and they usually blame things like this on someone else rather then themselves.

I do have an antenna, and the issue is only apparent on the HD digital cable broadcast. I have always suspected that the cable company is making excuses.

Then I would continue to complain to them and request a monthly refund until they resolve the problem as it is theirs and not the local broadcaster.

Since you seem to have nothing good, helpful or productive to say, as I have noticed over the past couple of weeks, don't post anything at all. We don't need that negativity nor do we need the rudeness.

I had done that for 16 months for a similar problem and was in fact credited my entire monthly charge for those months until I finally got fed up with them not being able to correct the problem and switched to Dish Network.

The OP might consider posting this question to the BBR Cox forum. A number of Arizona based Cox reps hang out there and may be able to comment.

Default Fox HD Frustration in Tucson

I've been dealing with this exact same frustrating problem as dolanz in Tucson (also with Cox Cable) for months now. The problem persists despite numerous calls to technical service and multiple service calls to my home. The HighDef Fox channel (#711 in Tucson) is unwatchable for live sports due to the jerkiness of the picture. I've DVR'd NFL games just so I could have evidence to show the service techs what I'm talking about.

To make even matters worse, all Cox tech service phone calls are routed through Phoenix where there is apparently no problem. Either the Phoenix people are uninformed about the Tucson problem (although local service techs say otherwise) or they're just ignoring the situation. They always say that it must be a problem with my set or installation since nobody else has complained (also contradicting what the local service techs are saying on both counts). They treat me as a clueless consumer (which perhaps I am if I continue to tolerate their inaction/inability/unwillingness to fix the problem).

Last I heard (today) was that the local Cox heirarchy is aware of the problem but has yet to say when (if?) it will be resolved. I really don't care whether it's a FOX problem or a COX problem--but it's definitely my problem.

I'm surprised and disappointed that Cox (our "friend in the digital age" as they advertise) hasn't been more proactive about fixing this. With the NFL playoffs this weekend (2 of the 4 games on FOX) I really hope they demonstrate that they're serious about this issue rather than continuing to procrastinate.

Default Follow up from HiDeph

Well Dolanz, no callback from Cox service tech as was promised for today. What a surprise!

I thought that I had posted that I live on Tucson's East side, but don't see the posting listed. Anyway, I'm near Harrison and Speedway.

I'll post again if I learn anything more.
