If buying new, just look for the HDMI logo; if it's there the cable meets all the standards. (no need to spend $$$).

Either they work or they don't work. There is no better quality so don't believe all of the salesman hype. Find the least expensive and you're good to go.

You're probably like most of us and not running cable more than 10ft so don't waste your money on high priced cables. I have bought cables from www.monoprice.com and www.tendonusa.com and have had outstanding success. This is Digital and the signal is either there or not.

As I originally replied to your posting regarding your request as to how to test for quality, their is no way other than sending cables out to a testing facility. There is no need to do this providing your cable is working and you are receiving a picture that is clear & normal and your are not getting a bad picture. All you will do by buying $$$ cables is make the seller & manufacturer richer as the cables supplied by Monoprice or other suppliers produce the same quality picture and the only difference in the higher grade cables can only be measureable by diagnostic equipment and in all probability would not be visible by your eyes.

From the independent testing I have seen, using very expensive professional equipment, there is no measurable difference, so....it would seem to me that snake oil is still snake oil.
