Default New Comcast HD's in CT

Just began receiving three new HD channels today in New Haven, CT area:
Discovery ScienceHD: channel 184
ABC FamilyHD: channel 229
DisneyHD: channel 230

With the recent migration of several analogs, hopefully more HD channels will follow in upcoming days. I believe SNYHD finally will be available during first week of August.

Default Comcast HD in CT

We received the same HD's earlier this week in the Plainville/New Britain area. Not to complain about any additions (all are welcome) but were these really the best choices? What about ESPNNEWS HD, SNYHD, WEATHER HD, WGN HD, FX HD, More premium movie HD channels, or the MLB HD Channel that we pay for in the package & don't get? And also what about the placement? Science Channel HD is thrown in the middle of digital channels even though there is plenty of room in the 191-240 HD channel range? Is there any planning at Comcast? Then they wonder why people change their service provider to Directv/Dish, U-Verse!

I agree from little I have seen so far, the new channels especially Family and Disney do not have much in the way of real HD programming, unless you count the 700 club. SNYHD would be a great addition for Mets fans especially since they are now in first place. I read somewhere (another forum) that SNYHD was coming around August 7th. And yes putting Discovery Science amound all non-HD channels does not show much thought.
With that said the good news is that Comcast seems to be finally realizing that to continue to prosper they must add new HD channels and soon. Hopefully that trend will continue.

Default More Comcast Hd

Four more channels were added today: TLC HD, AMC HD, TMC HD, & SHOWTIME 2 HD. Still a little confused on some of the choices (ESPNNEWS HD, WEATHER CHANNEL HD, FX HD, SNY HD...Where are you?) but all additions are welcomed. Thats 7 channels added in the past week for a total of 39 here.

The good news it's the most HD additions Comcast has provided in quite some time. Once again, I remember reading on another forum the addtion of SNYHD on August 7th, so hopefully it will be added with some of the other channels you mentioned. It finally appears that Comcast realizes that to continue to keep up with the competition they need to add HD channels and give up on their publicity "spin" that they have the most HD programming due to their HD On Demand offerings.

Here's hoping for better in Shoreline, Washington. Reassuring to hear about The Movie Channel, and Showtime 2. I have got my fingers crossed.

Yes, our ABCHD is from our local affiliate WTNH; however they only have network HD and do not broadcast in HD themselves.

Gee, maybe Charter will finally get going and sign a carriage agreement for WTNH (Lin TV) HD programming.

Default Comcast Hd In Ct

SNY finally added in HD (218), could they wait until the baseball season is over? They also added 2 Olympic HD channels (237 - Basketball & 238 soccer). Hopefully when the olympics are over those channels can be replaced with FX HD & the Weather Channel HD! With these 3 channels that is 10 added over the last 2 weeks & we have a total of 41 now so at least it is getting better!

Here in New Haven, CT just began receiving:
Fox Business Channel HD (242)
CNBC HD (243)
Bravo HD (244)
Encore HD (245)
and QVC HD (281)

So far all I have seen from Fox Business, CNBC and QVC is a good digital studio picture with a right hand wing giving stock quotes, financial news or in QVC's case what they call QVC HD Extra information.

QVC HD is last on my list of HD channels I'd like to see my TV service provider adding.

Just got two more here in New Haven:
E! Entertainment HD (282)
Cartoon Network HD (284)

Not exactly thrilled but am happy that Comcast is adding more channels and hopefully since this is one of the largest CT systems, this trend will continue.
