Default Pioneer 5010 and Cox/Rhode Island

Should be receiving our first high-def TV this coming Friday. (Pioneer 5010) It's going into a finished-basement that has NOT had a cable hook-up. It's a typical early-1970's finished basement, with the retro-ugly dark panneling/shag carpetting/white drop-ceiling. Upstairs is our Cox connection to another TV and the computers.

Are there questions I should ask the Cox installer...such as: "What's the definition of excellent signal strength, and are we close to that?" and/or... "How can you get this signal better?"

Any other suggestions as well, folks....

Thank you
