Default High Def. Cable on my PC?

Hello,

This might be a bonehead question, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I just got a new PC with twin wide screen monitors. I want to watch cable TV on one of the monitors from time to time. I assumed, since PC monitors are high definition, that I'd be able to watch high def cable TV on them. After HOURS of searching, I don't see a single TV tuner card that has component or HDMI inputs.

Right now, I've got a high def cable box from Comcast that is going in to my PC card via a coaxial cable. It is far from high def.

Is it, in fact, possible to watch high def. cable TV on a PC? What am I missing?

Thanks.

Default Cable Card Tuner

Comcast talks about a future with compatible equipment. In the meantime it is hard to do what you want to do. I have a video card that can output HD. That is not what you have in mind. Capture cards take an input, as you describe. Still not sure you can do what you want to do. Some tuner cards can do cable with a cable card. Input the coaxial rf from the wall, tune cable. Maybe not as good as the Comcast box, but it could get you HD from cable. Hope you figure out something. Maybe someone else has better information than I do.

As of this moment there really is not anything that would capture anything from the PVR but there are a couple of that are coming out which look promising here is the link

Hope this works

Thanks. To clarify, I don't care about PVR -- I just want to watch TV on my PC with the best possible resolution. Right now it is poor.
