Why must Cox Cable customers 'demand' HDTV?

I am not sure that it is worth your time to demand HDTV service from Cox Cable. I pay $10 a month to "rent" the HDTV set-top box, plus an additional $10 for basic HDTV channels...And what do I get? I am blessed with (only) three of the five local OTA stations, ESPN HD and two INHD channels. Yup, that's all ya get. Whoopee frickin' do. Of course they would love for me to pony up more $$ for HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc.,etc., but I would rather watch a DVD at my leisure rather than wade through all the trash on the "premiuim" channels.
I am watching the Forum comments on VOOM - surely this is a better deal. I plan on taking Cox's HDTV box back pretty soon. I will keep their basic cable service in order to have HGTV and Food Network for my wife, but their HDTV service is pathetic at this time.
