Finally ended the SA 8300 HDC nightmare!!
Well, after almost a month and two 8300 HDC`s Im finally back to the older SA 8300 HD and all is well again.
 I kept asking for an old box back but they kept saying they didnt have anymore. Yeah right! After many calls and a couple of vists, and telling them that I was gonna explore the options at Direct TV, wala, they show up saturday with a SA8300 HD!! If you are thinking of getting the new box, WAIT!! This box is loaded with many problems. Read the other threads on this forum about the SA8300 HDC. They are not exaggerating! I wish I would have never swapped them out, but I figured the new box would be better. Boy was I wrong and everyone here was right about it. I have Comcast in Central PA. So, unless you are having major problems with your old DVR, keep it as long as you can or at least untill they get the "bugs" worked out of the HDC. |
