Default Strange Problem w/Cablevision HD DVR

A few nights ago, both of my HD DVR boxes reset at the same time. My guess is that it was a software update to the box.

Well, now I'm noticing that a lot of things I had scheduled to record on one of the boxes are not scheduled to record, and when I try to re-record them and choose "first run only on this channel" it won't work. It won't schedule THAT showing as well as any future ones. The only way I can get it to work is to choose any other option, such as "at any day in this time slot, on this day and on this time slot, etc.."

Has anyone else experienced this problem and/or have any suggestions on how to fix it. Cablevisions customer support line is a bunch of morons and anytime I have a question or problem with them they always say "your box is broken." (It's not broken...this is obviously some strange bug).

I've also had some weird things happen to my DVR over the past few months. I'm on Cablevision too.

To correct my "bugs" I simply unplugged the DVR, waited 30 seconds or so, then plugged it back in. This has fixed my problems twice now. I don't know if it will fix your specific problem, but it may be worth a try.

My problem was also after a reset occurred.

Thanks...I'll give that a try.

Nothing beats the old "unplug it and plug it back in" fix. That's usually step 1, with physically slapping the unit at number 2 in my tech fixing methods list!
