I just bought a NexStar 3 (Vantec) from Newegg and a 1TB WH SATA HD (also Newegg), plugged the HD into case, and followed directions on site referenced in reply. Now my capacity is about 200 hours HD.

Hello James:

I have using for a year My DVR Expander from WD. I noticed that the DVR Expander was not recording anymore. So I found out that if you are using Scientific Atalnta 8300 HDC it is not compatible with the Expander. Before I had the 8300 HD and it was working fine. I am thinking to exchange the box from HDC to an older one so I can use my DVR expander because I constantly run out of space for recording.
