Default Anyone else seeing these Cox ads??

When Verizon came to town, Cox began running ads against "the phone company" that was selling TV service now, asking what could they know about TV and showing that their great idea was to offer Satellite TV to its customers via a home mounted dish.

Now their latest commercial is trying to sell Cox Fiber Optic "quality" service. It just aggravates me seeing Cox telling these lies about their competition, and about thier own services. Cox is so gone when they turn on the FIOS in my neighborhood...

I'm not a big defender of COX, but in some areas of the country, that ad is correct. And, since you do not have FiOS available, I believe it is the VZ deal you would get today

Cox bases this on the fact they they use fiber optic cable to bring the signal to the neighborhood; VZ to the premises.

Buzz over to VirginiaNewsSource and read
VERIZON WEB SEARCH "TINKERING" RAISES NET NEUTRALITY CONCERNS:
in the National News section. They won't let me post URLs yet, but I bet if you add dot com to the above VNS title, you'll get there)
And, if you do newsgroups, then go to verizon fios newsgroup and read the condemnation of FiOS as it really is from a former employee.
If you are searching for perfection, you won't find it with Verizon (at least not today), either

Thanks for the "link". I realize that Verizon is far from perfect, but family and friends that have switched have increased internet speeds and up times. My Cox service is so spotty, and since I work from home and rely on my internet connection for my business, that is enough for me to switch.

The aggravating thing is that Verizon contractors buried the FiOS in my yard in Feb, and it has yet to become active...

Have you looked at this forum:
AVS Forum > HDTV > Local HDTV Info and Reception
Hampton Roads, Va - Verizon Fios
I'm still not legal enough to send you the link, but if you get there, you might query there
