Hi
I was trying to help my friend to setup his plazma (Sony PFM-42V1) and Comcast Motorola dct6412 receiver. We used DVI-DVI cable provided with plasma. We can see HDTV and regular picture but only for 4, 5 seconds. Than screen goes black. I see that there is sync but no picture. When I pull and replug cable I see picture and then bang... black screen. Cable looks solid and not cheap and it is not too long. Please help. I searched lot of forums but with no result. Thanks M. |

Is the Sony HDCP compliant? It sounds like a handshaking problem.
Also, most TVs have configuration settings for the DVI input. Are they set correctly? P.S. I tried the DVI connection with a Sharp 37" TV, but prefer the component connection. The DVI connection had black level issues, sharpness issues, and a green push. Last edited by Lanny; 02-09-2005 at 04:11 PM. |

I also tried DVI between a Panasonic 50" plasma and the Motorola 6412 box from Comcast, only to get a blue background message box with white letters indicating an HDCP concern. The screen went blank after the message disappeared. I never saw any image at all. Both devices are supposedly DVI-HDCP compliant but if anyone has ideas please reply. thanks.

There are some issues regarding turn on issues. Try resetting your TV and using different turn on sequences for the TV and the 6412. Once established, you may to leave the 6412 powered up.
I would get the message sometimes when changing the 6412 setting from 720p to 1080i. Once I got the message, I had to re do the connection and power up sequence to regain the connection. |
