Lightbulb Watch analog cable and HDTV anntena channels

I bought a Vizio 1080P 47" LCD HDTV from Costco a few days ago. I subscribe to regular analog cable program right now.

I was wondering whether it's possible to watch both analog cable program and HDTV program from a HD antenna ? My initial research tells me it's not quite possible unless I manually switch the coax input from cable <--> antenna. I hope some experts in the forum can tell me my assumption is wrong.

Thanks,

RL

Thank you for your response. But my HDTV has only one coax input. All HD antennas I've looked at have coax as output as well.

at least 3 options one get an inexpensive AV switch that allows you to input two seperate signals then connect it to the rf connection on the tv or buy a fairly inexpensive dvd recorder or if you own a vcr then hook the cable input to the vcr or dvd then output to tv with either composite(red/white/yellow) or component (blue, green, red) to appropriate input for the tv..or get an av reciever w/2 rf connects and run everthing through it to your tv.....
