Motorola HD DVR Owners - 30 Sec Skip Feature

I have a charter ur5u-8400 remote and a motorola DCT6416 III dvr. The remote has not "Setup" button, only a select button. Any help?

i just set up my comcast moto 3412 I with this 30 skip forward and then programmed it to my harmony 880 which already had the skip button for it, Awesome!

So it sounds to me like from reading this series that since I have COX, they have blocked the possibility of programming this feature.

True?

I'm also finding it difficult to track down other features, like how to set channel skip. There seems to be a lack of details. Am I using i-guide? How do I tell?

I fixed it, basically type in code 994 and the button you want to restore twice, and it returns to it's previous function...
I set the right arrow button on my remote as the 30 skip, then when I went into my dvr, I couldn't use the button to delete programs or use it to navigate the guide.

If you have this remote the 30 sec skip function works great. I have the DCT3412 HD DVR STB

A couple of people posted that they got their harmony remote to do this as well. Did you have to use program the cable remote first, then use the "learn" function on the Harmony? Please explain how you got the 30 second skip to work with your Harmony remote. Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to send a skip longer than 30 seconds? I was used to a 15 minute skip on Tivo.

I have the Harmony 720, which I believe is set up similarly to the 670.

Go to Watch PVR:Customize Buttons. Under the "Skip Forward" button, set to Digital Set Top Box and select "Advance" command. That will give you a 30 second skip function.

I checked my logitech settings and this was already set to "advance". It does not work for fast forward although the "skip back" is set to "replay" and this does rewind 30 seconds. Wish I could get the fast forward to work, though. Thanks for the input.

I understand that all cablcos do not have this function enabled. Wonder if that is the case with yours? Bummer though, as it is a handy feature.
