Default Question about Comcast HD-DVR boxes with HDMI

When you exchange your current set top box for a HD-DVR box with HDMI connections, do they provide you with a HDMI cable as well? The reason I ask is because the first time around, when I bought a hdtv and exchanged my regular box for a dvr box, they ended up giving me 2 free sets of component cables....after I had just spent 75 on some. I just assumed they didn't include the cables so I ended up spending $75 that could have been used elsewhere. I just don't want to make the same mistake twice. Thanks in advance.

I was pretty shocked that they gave me an HDMI cable free.

when I got my HD box they offered me an HDMI cable for $25.

Won't hurt to ask for one because you might get lucky.

i took my 6412's back and picked up 2 3416's and they gave me HDMI cables for both. It probably depends where you live. I originally was given componant as well.

It all depends on the market. Some have them free, some charge. Some have them, some don't. It is a crap shoot. I do believe ALL markets will give you component cables. Also keep in mind that the old HD/DVRs with HDMI WILL NOT pass through a receiver for audio.

Rest assured the cables Comcast gives out are not very good and not well shielded. Might be worth investing in some better ones. I did.

Looks like I better wait to exchange my box till one of the nice people at my comcast building is working! Hopefully she'll hook me up with a cable or two. Again thanks for all the responses.
