If you have the manual that came with the TV, it will be on the last pages with all the other info about power it takes, weight, etc.

I don't have it, unfortunately.

Here is a link to an identical TV, though. I could give you the model number if it's needed, too.

Google the model number and see if it has a HDTV tuner in it. The one you guided me to did.

My set has an NTSC tuner, from what I just got around to looking up.

What's the best solution for me?

I agree that they should have a built in tuner in the cable box. I guess if you have cable the only way you are going to see the Super Bowl in HD is to have a tv with a built in tuner and hook up an OTA HD antenna. Charter stinks, I am now a DN loyalist! Long live DN HD!!

If it wasn't for a very old oak tree in my back yard, I would be with DTV by now.

I have been reading this forum since I was informed of this as well. Today I ordered DirectTV HD and I am also switching internet service as well. Charter cable internet keeps getting worse, and I don't like losing channels. Besides I am a COLTS fan so I have to see the Superbowl in HD.

Anyone here have DirecTV HD? Is it pretty good? How does it compare with Charter?

Thanks!

Sticking with Charter. I cannot believe it, but DirecTVs customer service was even worse to me than Charter. The installer never showed up.

I did hook up an OTA antenna today, and it works great except for CBS.

I am using the links in an above post to contact CBS (ABC also here in STL) and BELO to let them know I will not support any of their sponsors until they let Charter rebroadcast their FREE signal. We have to hit them in their pocketbook.

CBS SUCKED tonight. The 3rd quarter was the only one where the broadcast came in somewhat decent without breaking up. It was pitful that that was the best they could do for the superbowl.
