Charter & ABC - Just in Time

Noted last night that ABC HD was added as channel 780 to my HD cable service with Charter in Bham. I previously couldn't get the local ABC affiliate (in HD) via Charter or via OTA tuner.

Just in time for the new year, BCS, wild card playoffs, etc.

Seems to still be in test mode. The programming guide was blank with respect to listed programming for that new channel; only the affiliate's call sign was displayed. Also, Monday Night Football was sporadically in 4:3 SD. Otherwise the HD picture was great.

Maybe this bodes well for other markets. Check your guide.
