Comcast HD box and toshiba 32hf73

Hello everyone, im new to the whole HD world as i just purchased a Toshiba 32hf73. Yesterday i got the HD box through comcast i believe its a 3250HD?!? and im pleased with the HD picture. However when i hit guide i have gray bars on the sides, also when i watch regular 4:3 tv signal i get bars on the sides as well?!? I thought since it was a 4:3 tv that it wouldn't have the bars onthe sides but the top and bottem when watching HD for 16:9. Is there a setting in my tv or something i can do to fix this without having to shange in the box to stretch everytime i wanna watch regular definition tv? Also im using DVI to connect from the box to the tv.

I'm having the same problem. They brought me a 5100 box yesterday, do I need a different one?
