Question Sa 8000hd

Hello all...first post.

Finally got TWC in North Carolina to activate the DVI port on their 8000HD.

I've manually configured the STB to support all of the scan rates and set to Auto DVI. Is this a good idea or should I have left it alone at 1080i and Auto DVI?

Also having two odd problems:

1) The DVI Alert screen indicating the HDTV is not HDCP compliant periodically shows up while in the middle of watching a program on both ST and HD channels. Changing the channel and then going back works for the most part. Sometimes I need to power down the STB and allow it to reboot.

2) Audio volume is quite different between HD and ST channels.

Any thoughts or opinions are welcome.

I found volume is different between HD, Digital and analog channels here with Adelphia also.. As for the HDCP problem, that is strange, I only received that message on intial connecting of my DVI cable, after disconnectin the power and rebooting that message never appeared again... although from time to time I need to reboot the box when the DVI signal is lost but this only happens after the box has been off, never when watching and that has only happend twice in the last 5 months...

It ends up there is an issue with the recent firmware update TWC applied to the STB to activate the DVI port. They're "looking into it".

I anxiously await the installation of the newer SA8300HD which uses an HDMI connection and is a lot more stable (according to a close friend of mine).
