Default motorola 6200 - Best SD setup?

Okay, here are the two components I am connecting

Samsugn 5085 dlp
Motorola 6200 - Comcast HD Receiver.

When the tech guy came 4-5 weeks ago to hook me up, he connected via component cables to Component on the TV, as well as a coax connect to TV In or ANT 1.

I've tried the dvi cable but ended up needing that for the dvd anyway and did not lose any pq, so all was good....that is for HD anyway.

My SD signal is really pretty poor, much worse than the same unit at BB or CC when I ask them to go to "non-loop" feeds. I've seen in the MOTO manual an RF bypass whereby coax goes in and out...not sure why...if it is worth a shot, etc...

Was also thinking...probably will tonight, of disconnecting the coax altogether just to trial and error till I get a better signal.

Anyone have thoughts, suggestions, etc....getting tired of wifey beating up the "non-hd" channels.

Doug

Does anyone else have this trouble or is it just me? Not sure if I should call a tech out or not....

Doug

I have moto 6200 and it does not "do" SD cable very good
your TV probably does a better job of it

solution:
split cable BEFORE stb, then run one to TV In, the other to stb

it works for me ...

I have that cable box, and the cable technician hooked it up the same way. I downloaded the manual for the box from the web. One of the "setups" does not connect the coax cable from the box to the TV.
In addition, the box requires configuring. Did your technician do that? If not, go to the motorola website and download the manual. Its a simple process explained in it.

Once I did those two things, I noticed a BIG difference in quality.

dg, i did the simple config of setting 1080i for hd and 480p for SD along with 4:3 setup for non hd signals.

It also contained font settings for closed captioning text. Is this what you are referring to, or was it more technical?

What settings did you use btw?
