Default INHD2 situation

Is it just simply rumor that the station is going to go dark in August or has something been announced? I haven't heard anything about it going off the air from Cablevision and I dont see anything on INHD.com.

its rumorville from waht i can tell. I dont see why they'd drop it. They show all the baseball games in HD on that channel daily.

Nothing official yet, but I think that its a pretty valid statement. A lot of INHD2 programming started popping up in June on INHD, so I think that Indemand thinks that it's no longer necessary to have two channels.

All of the ballgames that I've seen have been on INHD. They're talking about INHD2 possibly going dark.

Any baseball on INHD2 is locally inserted by Comcast. They do something similar in NJ for YES-HD and MSG-HD. Its mostly INHD2 programming for the entire day until a preemption for local sports occurs.

I received a message on my Comcast STB last week that, yes, INHD2 is going dark in August. I don't remember the exact date though.

i wonder where theyll show them then? Its the FSBA thats actually broadcasting in HD. I understood that they are inserting, but i find it hard to believe that they'd remove a channel thats the only one available to watch these in HD. Your going to have about 1.5 million SF giant fans calling up screaming and yelling here, hehe. Id assume if they remove INHD2, we'll be getting a replacement.

From the rumors I heard it's going to go dark on August 1st. I've also heard that Cablevision is adding TNT-HD on friday so I would assume that they'd add that and keep 730 (where INHD2 was) as a channel to show Mets games in HD.

My STB message said August 1 INHD2 will not longer be avail. Programming will merge into INHD.

BTW: I can't believe Comcast will leave that slot open too long, I'm hoping for NGCHD.

Currently in NJ on Comcast, INHD2 is ch.207, and as I said is preempted for YES-HD and MSG-HD. From what I've read if INHD2 is used for local HD sports by your cable company in your area, you'll either get either dedicated channels for the RSNs, or they'll use the current INHD2 channel slot as an HD Special Events channel and it will be blank until there is a local HD game.

This all is pending official notification from Indemand, that they will cease operations of INHD2.

There is a red indicator LED on my STB whenever Comcast sends out messages about upcoming Pay Per View events or new channel additions. Last week there was a message stating that INHD2 was going black in August. I get there by hitting the menu button, then selecting home, then messages.

This was posted on AVS Forum

"Looks it's not shutting down after all, but some will lose it:

INHD2 will soon be significantly scaled back, however. "There are some systems where it may go away, but it's not unilaterally being shut down," said a spokesperson for iN Demand Networks.
