I got my Panny TH-42PX500U four months ago and had CableOne digital cable installed with a Motorola Cable Card. Great picture for three months, then I lost the Digital Value Pack (encrypted) channels. Cable guy installed another CC, but the set froze up with the message,"acquiring channel info".TV repair guy replaced the QAM tuner, but the set froze with the same message. Cable guy came with a third CC and it worked for a few hours. I've lost the encrypted channels again! Cable guy says it's not their problem because my set works with their STB (tried as a troubleshooting tool). My electronics training was on vacuum tube technology(U.S.Navy 34 years ago),but these guys seem up to speed on this stuff. Are these compatibility issues with CC's the problem? Is there hope for my case?

Unfortunately, there does appear to be quite a few issues with cablecards and it seems that because the cable operators lose money by not being able to rent you a set-top box, they're not to helpful or willing to go to great lengths to research and fix problems with them.
